Professor of Communications Studies at Wilkes University since 1985. She was
previously Instructor, Director of Forensic, Dept. Chair/Communications at
Clarion University from 1974 - 1985. Jane holed a BA in Political Science
from Bloomsburg State College in 1972 and a PH.D in Rhetoric/Communications
from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991. Her areas of expertise include
political rhetoric, debate, public speaking, and public relations. She had
50 + national convention presentations and publications to her honors, as
well as being director of Zebra Communication, a student -run full service
PR Agency at Wilkes from 1999 to present. Jane serves as expert
analyst for national media on political debates and campaigns with
commentary appearing in the USA Today, NYT, Washington Post, Dallas Morning
Times, Baltimore Sun, etc. as well as MSNBC, NPA, C-Span and all regional
affiliates. Jane is also a national lecturer with Fiori Forum Speakers
of Boston. Major Teaching Awards presented to Jane include 5 - time
Outstanding Teacher at Wilkes, including 2004 Carpenter Teacher Award; 2001
National Speakers Association's Teacher of the Year; 1980 Distinguished
Teaching Chair while at Clarion University of PA. Major Impact of
Education at BHS: The seeds were planted for my interest in debate (Mr.
Nash), while at BSC, I was active in debate and speech; coached for 5 years
at Clarion University where students won over 1300 awards. Jane and
Brinley were married in 1986. |
